Vacation Bible School was a great amount of learning and fun. Since our pastoral staff’s goal this year is communication, we zeroed in on that as our VBS theme. We began with God communicating through His Word the Bible. Then we ate lunch. We visited Carbondale’s Fire house where we learned how people communicate with each other during emergencies. Then we went to Grandma Jo Porter’s residence at Big Muddy Assisted Living. There we learned how God encourages people as they get older to not feel alone but to know how much God and their church cares about them. We group ended up at the Gray’s farm picking blackberries, cantaloupe, milking a cow and eating supper. There we learned that communication is a two way street and as God shows us His love through His creation, our response then is to take care of that Creation. We think everyone had a great time!
