Maundy Thursday – April 17th
7:00pm Worship with Holy Communion
This is the day when Christ instituted the Last Supper with His twelve disciples. “This do in remembrance of Me,” were His words to the twelve and to each of us as we remember His great love on the cross for us. It would be the very next day, Good Friday, that Jesus would die for us.
Good Friday – April 18th
12:15pm Noonday Prayer Service
This service traces Christ’s hanging on the cross for us during the hours of 12 noon until 3pm. His death assures us of our salvation and our eternal life with Him in heaven.
7:00pm Choral Tenebrae Service
In this service, members of our congregation read the passion narrative according to the four Gospels. As each reading concludes, the lights in the sanctuary grow dimmer as the choir sings several anthems highlighting the sufferings of our Lord. Finally the cross, draped in black is removed, symbolizing the darkness of our sinfulness.
Easter Sunday – April 20th
7:00am Easter Worship
9:00am Sunday School
10:00am Easter Worship
11:00am College Student Meal
We celebrate Holy Communion in both services. This is the first time since Ash Wednesday that we sing hymns and liturgy with “Alleluia” in them. In these services we celebrate the joy that is ours because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead! His overcoming death means that all those believing in Him will also live with Him!
